What we collect. What we don’t. Plainly.
You’re trusting us with a reference number tied to your home or business. We take that seriously. This Privacy Policy page explains exactly what data passes through MEPCO Bill Online, what we keep, what we never touch, and how you’re in control.

In detail
How your Reference Number or Customer ID is used
When you search for a bill, the number you enter is submitted directly to MEPCO’s billing system (bill.pitc.com.pk) to retrieve your bill, and the result is displayed back to you in your browser. We don’t retain a copy of this number or the resulting bill on our servers once your session ends.
Recent lookups stay on your device, not ours
If our tools offer an autocomplete or “recent searches” feature, it works using your browser’s local storage — meaning the data lives only on the device you’re using, not on our servers. You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser’s site data, and it’s never transmitted to us.
Messages you send us
When you use our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, the topic you select, and your message. This is used solely to respond to you and improve our tools. We ask that you avoid including your CNIC, full account numbers, or other sensitive details in your message — our support team doesn’t need them to help with website or tool issues.
Basic, aggregated usage data
We may use standard analytics tools to understand which pages are useful and where visitors run into trouble — this typically includes page views, approximate region, device type, and referring site. This data is aggregated and isn’t used to build an individual profile of you. If we use cookies for this purpose, you can control or disable them through your browser settings.
Who your data passes through
Bill lookups are sent to MEPCO’s own system, which is outside our control and governed by MEPCO’s own data practices. We may also use trusted service providers for hosting, email delivery, or web fonts (such as Google Fonts), which can involve standard technical data like IP address as part of normal web delivery.
How long we keep what we collect
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your query and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, then deleted. Bill lookup data isn’t retained beyond your session. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form and isn’t tied to your identity.
How we protect what we do collect
We use standard security practices — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to any stored contact-form data — to protect information in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you not to share sensitive account details through channels that don’t need them, like our contact form.
This site isn’t directed at children
MEPCO Bill Online is intended for general consumer use by adults managing their own or their household’s electricity bills. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
This policy may be updated over time
As our tools evolve, we may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect new features or practices. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the latest version. We encourage checking back periodically.
